Where pictures go
- Lesson picture: under the lesson text in Guided learning.
- Question picture: above the question, the flashcard front and the written-recall prompt.
- Picture answer options: the correct answer and every wrong answer each get a picture, with the option's text as its caption.
- Illustration: a diagram-style picture above the lesson (see below).
Open a concept's Pictures section, then drop a picture or choose Upload a picture. Choose from this setreuses a picture already in the set.

Illustrations
The Illustration block in a concept's lesson can hold a drawing in the style of the library's own diagrams.
- Draw with AI (4 credits) suggests a drawing with a matching dark-mode version. Keep it, or use Try again(4 credits) with an optional note on what should change. When credits come back
- Or upload your own illustration works like any picture. An uploaded one has no separate dark-mode version.
- Remove illustration takes it off the concept.
Generating pictures with AI for the lesson, question or answers isn't offered Not available yet. Only illustrations can be drawn by AI.
Alt text
Every picture needs alt text: a description read to learners who can't see it. The editor marks it required, and validation flags a picture without one.
- Describe what matters in one or two plain sentences. Don't start with “Picture of”.
- If the picture is the question or an answer option, give a screen-reader user what they need to answer, without giving the answer away. For answer options, the option's text is read as its name and the alt text as its description.
- For an illustration, say what it shows and the point it makes: its text is inside the picture.
- After replacing a picture, check the alt text still describes the new one.
Decorative pictures
There's no “decorative” option: every picture in a set is part of a lesson, a question or an answer, so it needs alt text. If a picture adds nothing a learner needs, leave it out rather than publishing it without a description.
Unused pictures
Removing a picture from a concept keeps it in the set's pictures. Pictures that no concept or published copy uses are deleted automatically after 30 days, or sooner with Clean up unused pictures in Set details. Delete picture permanentlydeletes one at once (a published picture can't be deleted until you publish without it).
