Building sets

Creating and editing sets

Drafts, concepts and sections, autosave, undo, copying and reordering, and what a republish changes.

Start a set

On Create, choose New study set. Give it a title, a short name (shown where space is tight), a category and a learner level, then Create and start writing. A new set starts as a draft with one section.

You can change these details any time with Set details, history and deletion in the editor. You can have up to 50 sets, 30 sections and 500 concepts per set.

Concepts and sections

Choose Add concept in a section. A concept has:

  • Basics: a topic name and a learning objective.
  • Lesson: up to 6 short paragraphs and an optional key idea, plus an optional illustration and diagram.
  • Question & answers: the question, the correct answer, other accepted answers (for written recall), and 3 to 9 wrong answers for the multiple-choice steps.
  • Flashcard and Written recall practice (optional), Pictures and Sources.

Checks run while you type and explain problems next to the field; they never stop you typing. Sections group concepts; rename, reorder or delete them from the list on the left (deleting a section deletes its concepts).

Autosave and conflicts

Every concept saves on its own shortly after you stop typing. The status at the top says Saving…, All changes saved, or Offline — will retry (your edits save when you're back online). If you leave the editor with unsaved edits, it saves first and asks only if that doesn't work.

If the same concept was saved from another tab or device while you were editing, you choose: Keep my version or Use the saved version. Nothing is overwritten silently.

Undo, copy and reorder

  • Undo restores the concept's previous saved version, one step at a time, while the editor stays open.
  • Copy makes a copy of the open concept right after it. A copy of an unreviewed AI concept still needs a review.
  • Reorder concepts and sections with the up and down arrows in the list, or move a concept to another section from its form. Order changes save at once.
  • Delete removes a concept from the draft. It stays in your published copy until you publish again.

Preview as a learner

Preview shows your current draft as learners will see it once published. Nothing you do there is recorded.

Versions and republishing

Edits after publishing stay in the draft; the editor says You have unpublished changes. Choose Publish changesto make a new version. Add a short What changed note: it appears in the set's publishing history and is shown to learners of the set.

  • Learners keep their progress, reviews and XP on every concept you kept.
  • If you change a correct answer, learners keep their progress and are told the answer changed.
  • Concepts you deleted are removed for learners when you publish, with any progress on them. XP already earned is kept. The publish dialog lists them and asks you to confirm.
  • Publishing with nothing changed doesn't make a new version.

Every version, with its date and note, is listed under Publishing history in Set details.

Unpublishing and deleting

Unpublish (in Set details) takes the published copy away and keeps your draft. See what learners see when you unpublish. Delete set deletes the draft, its published copy and its pictures for good; you type the set's title to confirm.
