Getting started

Getting started with Create

From an empty dashboard to a set you can study and share: the ten steps, in order.

What you make

A study set is a list of concepts grouped into sections. Each concept is one idea to learn: a short lesson, a question, its correct answer and a few wrong answers. Recall Ladder turns that into the same Guided learning, flashcards, written recall and spaced reviews as the library's own sets.

You work on a draft. Learners only ever see a published copy, and only if you share it with them.

The steps

  1. Create a set from Create with New study set: a title, a short name, a category and a level. More
  2. Add concepts by hand: write the lesson, question, answer and at least 3 wrong answers. More
  3. Generate an outline with AI (optional): describe a subject and edit the suggested outline before anything is written. More
  4. Review AI material: check every AI-written concept and mark it reviewed. More
  5. Add pictures or illustrations, each with alt text. More
  6. Validate the set to see what blocks publishing. More
  7. Publish privately. Only you can study it at first. More
  8. Share with learners by email. More
  9. Understand AI credits: what each action costs and when credits come back. More
  10. Edit and republish: learners get the new version and keep their progress on what you kept. More

The getting-started checklist

The Create dashboard shows a short checklist with your next two or three steps. Steps are ticked off from what you've actually done (a set exists, a concept exists, a set is published or shared, and so on), so there's nothing to tick by hand.

Choose Hide checklist to put it away; Show the getting-started checklist on the dashboard brings it back. It never blocks the page. The choice is remembered in this browser.

What's available today

Creating sets comes with the Creator plan. If Create says “Set creation comes with Creator”, your account is on Free or Learner: upgrade on Plans.

AI generation may not be switched on for your account. When it isn't, the dashboard says “AI generation isn't available yet” and you can still write everything by hand.
